October 2008

现丑了。。。 让你们瞧木头人的利害!Have a great laugh about it. Ya… cannot picture me dancing right?! Anyway this is only lesson 4, 8 more to go… doubt i can remember any steps right now…

P.S: that’s my dear brother. After partnering with him, i can’t dance with short man bcos i will bump into them everytime after i twirl myself silly… -_-” and he sure can shake his bum…

I caught a total of 2 movies this week. Namely Vicky Christina Bacelona and Nights in Rodanthe. Among the two movies i had caught, i preferred the first one. Vicky Christina Bacelona tells a story about two best friends who has vast difference love perception. Both of them went for a summer holiday in Bacelona and both of them fall in love with a Spanish artist acted by Javier.

Vicky is the very practical and logical person. She craves for stability, a family of her own and security. She is engaged to a rich and nice guy back in US. She thought she has all the things she wanted until she met Javier…

Christina, on the otherhand, is totally different from Vicky. She goes with the heart, she gets in and out of relationship really fast whenever she feels something is not right, she will go out of it. Her perception of love is to find someone who can make her whole. And of course she’s rather wild and playful.

Penelope Cruz is the ex wife of the Spanish artist, Javier. Both of them have a love hate r/s and the chemistry is undeniably there. They love each other to death but something is missing in the r/s. And the solution to it… they found it in Christina. And so the three of them went into a r/s. You may call it threesome. Christina and Penelope are also in love with each other too. So it’s rather complicating. Christina like Javier, Javier likes Christina, Penelope likes JAvier and Christina, Javier likes Penelope… ahh watever…

But Woody Allen has a way of writing and directing the movie. I really had fun watching it. As fo vicky, who had a one night stand with JAvier, she started craving for the excitement she had when she was with JAvier, She decided to give up her husband and search for her happiness… but i’m glad in the end she realised that what she wanted was still the stability and security she craved for.

The characters in the movie are very real and I feel that i can emphatise with them. Especially Vicky character. I feel that i’m rather like her. I desire stability and security. Very logical and practical in nature. While Christina, i saw her character in a few of my frens. =) It’s a good movie to catch. Worth the ticket price!

I caught Nights in Rodanthe yesterday with my sister and her boyfriend. Decide to skip my facial and go out for a movie instead. The movie makes me cry buckets! Damn…. my sister cried a lot too. But it’s nice to cry our once in a blue moon. Hahahahahahaaaa… actually when we came out of the cinema, many ladies have puffy eyes. Diane Lane is GOOD. Her acting skill is undeniably oscar wortthy. As for Richard Ghere… He had really aged. I still remembered I was so head over heel with him when he acted in Pretty Woman. The dashing and charismatic prince charming. But he had aged gracefully nonetheless. This movie is for the die hard romance. But it taught me something ~ Everyone is capable of finding that true love no matter how old you are but fate can be a cruel thing.

Exotic dancing is funnnnnnnnnnnn… and erotic. Hahahahhahahahaaaa…. although the instructor tried to make it erotic, tell us to feel sexy and touch our bodies as we do the actions, i can’t help but giggle and burst out laughing.

Lol…

And wat’s even funny was a mother brought her daughter along and she’s damn cute la! When Renee, our instructor, taught us to do the hooker walk, the little gal followed us. What’s even adorable was when we were taught to do the shoulder wave….. She tried moving her shoulder but it looks kinda stiff so in the end the whole classroom burst out laughing. By the way she’s only around 4 years old.

Really really adorable. =) I guess maybe it’s her presence that makes it difficult for us to feel “sexy”… Imagine you’re concentrating to coordinate your body and feel sexy at the same time and this little gal was trying to do the same action as you! I simply can’t find any words to describe it right now…

Geee…..

And my chinese has definitely “deprove”. I think i speak Mandarin with a bit of angmohish feeling. I was at the train with Meiqi waiting for the train in the middle platform and the train was not meant for boarding. So the SMRT person spoke over the PA system, “Attention passengers, the train at the middle platform heading towards Marina Bay is not for boarding.” And he repeated this line for at least 5 times in a sing song method.

After he finished, i turned around and asked Meiqi to translate it into Chinese. She gave me a dumbfolded look with a huge question mark floating above her little head… [-_-"]

And so… while we were waiting for the train, we tried to translate it. And in the end we managed to come out with this,  “地铁搭客请注意,请勿乘搭停止在中央月台,通往马林傍列的列车”. And that takes us around 5 mins to come out with the sentence but i believe there’re many errors to it. Does it sounds right to you?! And I dont even know how to write Marina Bay in chinese… and when we tried pronouncing it, it sounds weird. I guess my language level is neither here nor there now… Whatever happened to my A1 Chinese…???

Goodbye to C*ti. It was a weird day… really really weird… a part of me feel sad leaving the place, another part of me was really happy to leave the place. Sad to leave the wonderful people behind, happy that there’re new challenges in front of me.

On my last day of work, i was bombared with the most stupid question i had ever faced, working at C*ti for 1 year plus. An AB emailed me in the morning asking me how many private equities does the client hold in his portfolio. I read through the reports which she attached with the email and i was rather shocked that someone could actually ask me such a stupid question… The report has 3 pdts, therefore of course there will be 3 private equities… And i replied her courteously of cos since it was my last day at work.

After an hour or so… she replied saying thanx to me and she asked me another jaw dropping question… She asked, “So what are the name of the private equities which the client holds?” Damn….. she’s RETARD and IDIOT!!!! I was fuming after reading it and i shouted across to my colleague, ” That M*mi is R.E.T.A.R.D!!!” WHen i replied her, i was so tempted to CC her boss in. But i kept my cool and thought ok, i’m gaining good karma by helping her, but deep within me i just want to reply “you’re stupid” to her… She is really stupid… wonder why the hell she’s still working there.

And sooo… she’s the best anecdote that happened on my last day at work. Around 5 plus when i came back into the office, my supervisor came running to me and said that she needed my help to collect taxi voucher from the 8th floor reception. I was rather adament and replied, “why you ask me to do such thing on the last day of work?!” Then she replied she can’t go off because boss needed her help. And of coz…. i know my supervisor too well she always have thing rolled up her sleeve…

And when i reached 8th floor…. the receptionsit greeted me with a smile and said, ” You must be Zoe…. this is a gift for you.” They got me a bouquet of flower from my favourite florist. How sweet…

My bouquet, Up close picture of the flowers

Anyway they made me a photoscrapbook too and best of all, everyone in the whole team wrote somethg sweet and nostalgic inside. Everyone was waiting eagerly for me to read the book so that i will cry in office. But i really refrained from it because I knew i will start crying and that’s the last thing i wast to do so. And i’m totally glad that i never read it in office because i cried when i read it back home. Boo hooo…..

And i read this somewhere in a magazine today.. it goes like this 谈恋爱时,时间特别短。但时间也能淡化爱情。How true…  Ok very random to post this up bu i thought why not?!
